I saw a mention of Sunlight's leap of faith in another post here in 14ers. The videos never make it look so bad (looks like a little puppy dog hop) but you can sense massive fear, so I know it's scary as F. It's one I'd like to do next year. For you sunlight veterans out there, tell me about your leap and how close to death you feel you came. I'm intrigued!. Me just before the leap of faith on the Sunlight Peak summit Summit views from Sunlight Peak (elevation: 14,061 feet/4286 m) But as challenging as this had been, we were only about one-third of the way through our day. We still had to summit Windom… and then descend back to our campsite. And it was already 10:15am.

14ers.com Trip Report - The Chicago Basin Four 08/01/2021. Heads up! All three peaks on this route require scrambling. Sunlight Peak requires a very technical Class 4 "leap of faith" move, while Windom involves a tricky Class 2 scramble, and Mount Eolus with a solid Class 3 section. This route requires mountaineering experience to complete. The Sunlight Peak, Windom Peak, and Mount Eolus via Animas River Trail is an ambitious route for those seeking.
