Well here goes ,bought of ebay.said g6 1 wire. It does say motorcraft but has no instructions.A 6g has built in volt reg.and my 82 has a voltage reg how can I wire this thing up without catching my car on fire.ALso got a turaus fan.the alt has a red and white wire .the red goes to the post the.. I have a 82 Mustang GT and for some reason the battery won't stay charged. I had the battery tested and replaced and its good, I also had the alternator tested and its good also. I used a volt meter and with the car off the battery is 12v and when the car running the battery drops to 7 volts. Im pretty sure the wiring on the alternator is wrong.

You will need to do some voltage drop testing of several of the wires. Start looking for these things: 1.) Bad diode(s) in the alternator - one or more diodes have open circuited and are causing the voltage to drop off as load increases..
