You might find the answer before me, and I wanted to point out that I have seen a pretty complete set of wiring diagrams on this site somewhere. The problem is as you have stated you are using one tone control for both pups, and a true 50's wiring that we are all familiar with involes as stated above a tone control for each volume, and for each.. Wiring colours won't be the same as the above diagram, but a rough interpretation for your situation would be: Neck pickup centre conductor (red cable) soldered to lower lug of neck volume pot. Bridge pickup centre conductor (black cable) soldered to lower lug of bridge volume pot.
Gibson schematics are diagrams that provide a visual representation of the electrical components and wiring connections in a Gibson guitar. These schematics are an invaluable resource for guitar technicians, builders, and enthusiasts, as they help in troubleshooting issues, modifying the electronics, or building custom guitars.. Here are some images I fixed up to show the various wirings that I've noodled around with on my Les Pauls and Flying Vs. Thanks to the Les Paul Forum for all the info I've gained from there and to Black Rose Customs for including a diagram of their kit wiring on their website.
