Selects between modal, sympathetic and string resonators. C. Coarse frequency, adjusted by semitone increments. This control spans 5 octaves. D.. The Mutable Instruments Rings is the most dedicated and fully featured Physical Modeling Eurorack module. Based entirely around a resonator core, this module needs to be 'excited' or 'strummed' by a gate to be activated. This emulates vibrations of structures simulated by the Rings in 3 different sections; Modal Synthesis mode, Sympathetic.
Rings is available as a built module, full kit & pcb/panel. Built modules & full kits are available with either the black Antumbra or original MI silver panel. The build is very straight forward, all pots are B10k, check led orientation, flat side must match flat side marked on pcb. Mutable Instruments Github (BOM, build files etc). Mutable Instruments' Rings introduces the idea of virtual strings to generate its own flavour of polyphony. Familiar from the outset, Rings closely resembles the resonator section of the Elements module. It supports three resonators: physical modelling processes that take unpitched sounds such as clicks and plucks and generate harmonic.
