TI-83 Calculator Won't Turn On . I have a TI-83 graphing calculator that's pretty old but has worked fine up til now. I haven't had to use it the last few months but now I need it for a physics class and it won't turn on. I've looked up how to fix this but nothing is working. I've tried replacing the regular AAA batteries and the backup battery.. Is there some kind of tester that TI sells that can diagnose problems. I have 5 TI 83's that won't turn on. I haven't tried changing out the internal battery, but have read on another site that the internal battery will not show as a symptom of DOA. Think I will get at least one internal just to rule out that symptom anyway. Tom
From TI's website, download the latest version of OS for your calculator to the desktop of the computer. Connect the TI Connectivity cable between the PC and calculator (this cable was not included with TI-83 Plus calculators). The calculator will automatically turn on when the TI Connectivity Cable is inserted.. What troubleshooting steps can I try if the TI-73 Family, TI-80, TI-81, TI-82, TI-83, TI-85, TI-85 and TI-86 graphing handheld will not turn on or function properly? Please Note: Information on battery precautions and replacement can be found in the case entitled " Instructions for Replacing Batteries In a TI Graphing Calculator ".
