Hi, If the third light works, then either you have two burned-out bulbs or an open circuit (broken wire). If you look below at the two pics, I attached the wiring schematic for the brake lights.. I will check both bulbs with a tester tomorrow - but they went out simultaneously (I had the TJ inspected in May) - I've looked at the switch on the brake pedal - seems that about six wires come out of it - Is it possible that a portion of the switch controls the normal brake lights and another portion controls the third light?

I have an 2005 GMC Envoy and the brake lights have quit working but the third brake light does. I have checked the fuses,bulbs, and have replaced the brake light switch located on the brake pedal..
